PRESS RELEASE
THE PANTO YOU CAN COUNT ON
If you decide to venture out across the Levels between Wednesday 1st and Saturday 4th February 2012, under grey scudding clouds, through narrow meandering roads that follow the Sheppey but appear to lead nowhere, then do be careful. Count Dracula is on the prowl and will be starring in Dracula The Panto by Jim Sperinck at Godney Village Hall, nightly at 7.30pm with a 2.30pm matinee on Saturday.
The Count, living alone with his daughters, is upset that they have all been drained of blood, greedy fellow that he is, and sets his bushy butler Boris, who for some strange reason is continually howling, the task of recruiting some new blood in the form of a wife. With the bumbling Steak & Kidney in tow he decides to kidnap Sonia, daughter of the local innkeeper, Dame Rosie Glow. The gang have, however, forgotten about Sonia’s brother, cheeky chappie Jack, who is not exactly sure which pantomime he should be in and Richard, Sonia’s beau. The pair set out with the Dame to spoil the Count’s plans but also in true panto tradition have the help of friendly Fairy Garlic. With bats and ghouls and things that go bump in the night, lots of slapstick, popular songs, dance and the occasional thrill ensue as we follow the efforts to Save Our Sonia.
Adult tickets £7, children £3.50p if bought in advance fromwww.gadssomerset.org.uk (no booking fee) or from the box office 07502 047 195, otherwise £8 and £4 on the door.
